If you’re one of the many adults who have trouble falling asleep each night, you know the frustration that inevitably occurs as a result of tossing and turning for hours. In Jennifer Williamson’s new book, Sleep Affirmations, she shares 200 phrases that you can repeat to yourself to help you drift off peacefully. We’ve shared 10 of our favorites below. Choose one affirmation to repeat nightly, taking 5 to 10 minutes to let the message sink in. You may also want to place a hand on your heart or belly as a self-comforting mechanism. Don’t worry if distractions arise—simply return to the affirmation. The important thing is that it feels true to you. You can always modify it as you wish.
I have done my best today, and I am willing to forgive the rest.
My best is always good enough and everything else is worthy of forgiveness. I am willing to try this belief: I have done my best. I forgive the rest. Now it’s time to let go.

I don’t need to figure everything out— not all at once, and not tonight. My questions are absorbed by the silence of night. I trust that all I need will be revealed to me with perfect clarity. For now, sleep is what’s best.
